Staff shared accomplishments from 2024, member impact data, advocacy updates, and a peek at what's to come this year. Some highlights include:
- Member impact
- On average, each Coalition member repaired 107 homes. 3.3 is the average number of repairs made at each home, and the average total residents served by a member organization was about 226 for the program year 2024.
- Stay tuned for the Member Impact Benchmarking Report, expected late April, which will offer valuable insights into trends, identify areas of strong performance, and pinpoint potential gaps or opportunities for improvement.
- Organizational growth
- The Coalition welcomed Bene Dombasi to the team last year as the Older Adults Home Modification Program (OAHMP) Manager.
- The Coalition received funding from the Edward & Wanda Jordan Family Foundation for another round of CAPS training to support member organizations this year (stay tuned for updates this summer!).
- Advocacy and network building
- The Coalition went global! Freyja Harris, Executive Director of the Coalition, was invited to present at the World Urban Forum in Cairo, focused on the effects of climate change on housing.
- Later this month, Freyja will participate in Harvard JCHS Improving America's Housing 2025 Release on March 20th.
- The Coalition has restructured our Advocacy Task Force into two focused groups:
- Housing Preservation Collaborative Solutions Group - open forum for collaboration and idea sharing, focusing on tackling challenges, brainstorming solutions, and advancing housing preservation goals
- Housing Preservation Advocacy Learning Series - features expert presenters who dive into specific topics related to housing preservation advocacy
- The Coalition is monitoring the recent reintroduction of the Whole Home Repairs Act to Congress, which is modeled after Pennsylvania's successful program.
