Program Details

The program combines a Coalition-hosted webinar series that speaks to unique challenges to serving low-income older adults, including funding and advocacy. It combines industry-specific learning with a third-party certification, the Certified Aging in Place Specialist certification, hosted by the National Association of Home Builders.

After participation, cohort participants will be equipped to:

  • repair and modify homes for low-income older adults in their communities
  • manage or develop high-impact home repair and aging-in-place modification programs
  • understand national trends and key issues facing older Americans

In addition to the CAPS training, Cohort members are required to participate in cohort webinars and engage in peer learning. Cohort webinars will be open to all Coalition members. The cohort and certification are fully virtual. Participation in the webinars and CAPS training will be funded for accepted applicants.

What's covered for cohort participants:

  • NAHB Certified Aging in Place Specialist training & graduation fee (required to receive certification)
  • Participation in three Coalition-led webinars

Program timeline:

  • May 23: Applications close
  • Week of May 26: Notifications of acceptance made
  • June: Webinar 1
