Jeri Bluege named as Professional Excellence Award Winner

KINGSPORT, Tenn – November 9, 2023 The Coalition for Home Repair, the national coalition for home repair organizations in the United States, recently honored Jeri Bluege with the Professional Excellence Award.

The Professional Excellence Award was presented to Jeri Bluege in recognition of a career which has made substantial contributions to a home repair organization. Notable accomplishments include Jeri’s partnership with area agencies on aging, veterans service officers and home health agencies to provide holistic and comprehensive services that address each individual's unique needs. Jeri demonstrates commitment to creating a fulfilling and engaging experience for volunteers. When hosting a volunteer youth group with cognitive and physical disabilities, Jeri taught students how to use tools and encouraged a profound sense of confidence. Jeri is a Desert Storm veteran of the US Naval Reserves, where she earned several service medals during her deployment to Iraq and Kuwait.

Morgan Pfaff, Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area Executive Director, shared, “I have often said to our team that ultimately we need to be confident that we can stand behind the work we do in the community. Jeri has embraced this principle with utmost professionalism and an exceptional work ethic. It is a pleasure and an honor to serve in mission with her.”

“People like Jeri Bluege are who take home repair programs to new heights,” said Freyja Harris, Coalition for Home Repair executive director. “Safe, healthy, affordable homes are fundamental to thriving communities.
